He Found Me Series by Whitney Barbetti - Release Blitz

He Found Me:

When I was seventeen, I disappeared. I walked out the door of my apartment with a backpack and never looked back. I left the life of Cora Mitchell behind, seeking freedom from my real-life nightmare. But my freedom came with a cost. I lived a fictitious life for the next six years, never letting anyone close enough to see underneath the facade that was Andra Walker. I was content with my simple little life. Until I met Julian. And the moment I started allowing myself to open up, allowing someone to see through the superficial, was the very same moment the Monster from my past would return to find me.
He Saved Me:

Julian
I’ve come to understand that I’ll always find her. She’s my north star, my sense of direction. In her, I’ve found my home. She tells me I saved her. But the truth is, she saved me.

But nothing good can ever last. Andra’s keeping secrets. She’s holding something back. I’m trying, desperately, to anchor her. To let me in, to let me help.

But will all my efforts end up with a ghost of a girl I love?

Andra
I'm used to disappearing. Vanishing into thin air, without a trace of who I've been or where I've gone.

But it’s so much harder to do with a broken heart and no hope for a happy ending. Sometimes the only people who can put all the pieces of us back together are the ones we least expect to. That's what Julian did for me.

Julian found me. But now, all Six wants is to keep me locked up, away from the world, away from the Monster. I can't live like that. It's not living at all. Because I still have unfinished business.

And I'm going to make sure the Monster gets what’s coming to him

I like nachos and champagne and clean sheets. I spend far too much time at Starbucks. I wrote a couple books

More than Water by Renee Ericson Review

 5 Stars
It doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel wrong. It just...feels.

EJ Cunning, an art history major, dates musicians. Foster Blake, a chemical engineering major, can’t sing a tune. They’re not each other’s type. They’re coworkers.

Then, one night leads to sex—sex between friends—which leads to an agreement. It all seems so simple—but nothing ever is.

Many layers build a person’s facade.

Look into the depths for what’s hidden within.

It’s more than water. It’s a story—a living and breathing substance beyond the reflective surface.
We are a substance of our own design. We’re more than water. We’re more than fire. We’re a miracle, a living and breathing combination, with no formula to define

I love this book. I love this author and I have been dying for this book. I loved her last series, These Days. So when I heard about this book, I started a countdown. I have to admit I am a die hard fan of college romances, but the problem is that there are so many that it becomes hard to find the really good ones. This book is one of the best ones. Because as much as I love simple college romances with the bad boy, I LOVE the ones that have some depth to them as well. This book has a realism about it and characters with depth.

Foster is a bad boy .. in his own way. So he's not some bad boy that you would think. But it still satisfies that itch that only one girl can fix him type way. And he is a Chemistry major. I majored in Chemistry and Biology in college so this book hit all my good points with its geeky humor. His group of friends are perfect and I could picture every single one.

EJ is awesome. She is strong and bold and trying to find her way in the world to satisfy herself as well as those around her. I think we all struggle with what we want and what expectations we have upon us.

When both of our panting returns to a more measured rate, he collapses onto the bed next to me, where we lie side by side, staring at the stark ceiling above. Out of nowhere, he positions his palm about a foot away from my face. “What?” I ask, winded.
“High five?”
Slapping my hand with his, I say, “That definitely deserves one.”

I think what I loved most about this book was the chemistry between these two. It had the most perfect humor and build up and ... and ... it was just perfect. I loved them. I really can't come up with words about everything I loved about their relationship.

If you haven't read this book, then you need to NOW. If you haven't read this author then FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! She was one of my top reads in 2014 and I have no doubt she will be again for 2015. I can't wait for whatever she comes up with next!!

Behind Your Back by Chelsea M. Cameron Review

4 Stars
To get to him, I need to use her.
I’ll play her like a violin and have her falling in love with me before she even knows what’s happening.
It will be easy. I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again.
She’s just a girl.
A tool to get what I want.
When I’m done with her I won’t think twice about walking away.
At least, that was what I thought.
Until I met her
With every step, little bits of my heart break off and drop behind me. I’m leaving a lot of pieces of me behind here. I don’t think I’m ever going to get them back.

I really enjoyed this book. It was so unassuming in how it sucked you in. I think what I loved most was that you think you have these assumptions about these characters; you think you know who they are and if they are a good or bad. Then as more and more of the story is unveiled it starts making you question what you know. I didn't love this book at the beginning, but as I read on, it built my curiosity more and more and by the end I was dying for Back to Back ... which wasn't out yet .. so here I am not having read it yet. I plan to remedy that.

“No, I don’t think I do. There’s a lot to you, Quinn. I can feel it. You’re like a pond where the surface appears calm, but you don’t know how deep it is until you dive in and start to let yourself drown.” I could say the same about her.

This review is pretty short. But I think above sums it up perfectly. Overall the side characters were great. I REALLY liked the build of and growth of the relationship between Quinn/Sylas and Saige. It was serious and deep and made me feel Quinn's loss at the end. Looking back at what I've highlighted while reading makes me that much more excited to read the conclusion!

I recommend the book if you're looking for something a little bit different! Enjoy!

Chaos by Jamie Shaw - Blog Tour + Giveaway

Chaos
Mayhem #3
By: Jamie Shaw
Releasing July 21, 2015
Avon Impulse

Blurb

From the moment she saw Shawn Scarlett perform at a school talent show, Kit Larson has loved two things: the guitar, and the gorgeous, green-eyed boy who inspired her to play. But one careless night in high school shatters her hope of ever being more than a notch on his bedpost.

Six years, two bands, and one mostly-mended heart later, Kit’s about to make her rock star dreams a reality as the new guitarist for Shawn’s band, The Last Ones to Know. He may not remember their reckless night together, but Kit has never forgotten… and she’s determined to make him eat his heart out.

The release of their new album means a month cooped up on a tour bus, sleeping inches away from the ridiculously sexy musician she’s never quite gotten over. And as Kit gets to know the real Shawn—not Shawn Scarlett, the rock god, the player—their attraction becomes too hot to resist. But the past is paved with secrets, and when they finally surface, Kit could lose everything: the band, the music, her dreams… and Shawn.

Review: **Received book for free in exchange for an honest review**
5/5 Stars!
I'm a bad girl for writing my review for Chaos before writing my review for Riot. The great thing about being an adult is you can do whatever you want so, HA!
As an active follower of the Mayhem series, I was super stoked to read Chaos and the only reason my review is so late is because, honestly, I couldn't find the right words to describe this book. I mean, we all know Shawn is a hottie and Kat is...she's phenomenal and a wild cat. But I wanted to say something different and new about this book, something you haven't heard from the many reviews this book has. So Jamie, if you're reading this, I'm sorry I couldn't find a better way to describe this book. You delivered and I fell in love...again. Not sure who I love better, Adam or Shawn. Peach is still my number one female character out of everyone mentioned in this series.
I'm trying to get Jena in this series and she's read Mayhem (I think she said she likes it). I'm just waiting for the day where I can own all 3 (4 coming soon) of these lovely books on my shelf. That is, when I purchase an actual bookcase to hold all these paperbacks.

Excerpt:
It takes me an hour to drive to Mayfield. An hour of drumming my fingers against my Jeep’s steering wheel and blasting the music so loud that I can’t hear myself think. My GPS interrupts the eardrum massacre to give me directions to a club called Mayhem, and I park in the side parking lot of a massive square of a building.
With my Jeep in a spot and my ignition turned off, I drum on my steering wheel a few more times before smacking the heel of my palm against my glove compartment. It pops open, a hairbrush spills out, and I use it to tame my wind-tangled locks.
Earlier this week, the name of Shawn’s band—The Last Ones to Know—popped up on one of my favorite bands’ websites. I blinked once, twice, and then pushed my nose toward the screen to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.
They were looking for a new rhythm guitarist. After doing a little digging, I found out that their old one, Cody, got kicked out of the band. The website didn’t say why, and I didn’t care. There was an opening, and everything in me told me to send an email to the email address listed at the bottom of the online flyer.
I typed the email in a daze—as if my guitar-loving fingers wanted to be in the band even more than my spaced-out brain did. I wrote that I had been in a band in college but that we broke up to go our separate ways, I sent a YouTube link to one of our songs, I asked for an audition, and I signed my name.
Less than half an hour later, I received a reply overflowing with exclamation points and an audition time, and I wasn’t sure if I should smile or cry. It was a chance to make all my dreams come true. But in order to do that, I’d have to face the dream that had already been crushed.
These past six years, I’ve tried not to think about it. I’ve tried to erase his face from my mind. But that day, with that email in front of me, it all came back in a rush.
Green eyes. Messy black hair. An intoxicating scent that seemed to linger on my skin for days, weeks.
I give my head a little shake to clear Shawn from my mind. Then I finish brushing my hair and take one last glance in my rearview mirror. Satisfied I don’t look nearly as messy as I feel, I hop onto the asphalt and haul my guitar case from the backseat.
Now or never.
After a deep breath of city air, I begin making my way around the concrete fortress casting shadow over the parking lot. Unforgiving rays of afternoon sunshine wrap themselves around my neck and send beads of sweat trickling between my shoulder blades. My combat boots hit the sidewalk step by heavy step, and I force them to keep lifting and falling, lifting and falling. It isn’t until I’m at a massive set of double doors that I finally stop long enough to let myself think.
I raise my hand. I lower it. I raise it again. I flex my fingers.
I take a deep breath.

I knock.

Desertion by River Savage Review

4.5 Stars
 Honor.

Courage.

Commitment.

Three things Jesse Carter has lost. A former Marine, Jesse used to stand proud of his achievements and live by the code. But when circumstance made him question everything he believed in, those most basic values didn't feel so important after all.

Sex.

Lies.

Knights Rebels.

Three things Jesse Carter has found. Reborn into a brotherhood not so different from the one he left behind, Jesse finds it all too easy to block out his past and claim the role as Rebels' fun-loving player.

Until he meets Bell.

Shy, awkward, and with troubles of her own, Bell Johnson's no stranger to hiding her pain. When Jesse forces himself into her life, she's at risk of her defences crumbling.

Does Bell have the strength to survive Jesse and his demons or is she fated to become another casualty in the self-destruction of Jesse Carter?

Out of everyone in my life, she was the one who brought me peace. She was the one who constantly tried to help me move past it.

This book .... This book is a reminder for why I love reading books. More than just a way to pass the time or anything else. This book spoke to me at a time I needed some help. I went into this book expecting another great book by River Savage. I had some preconceived notions about Jessie and what his story would be, and it was there. But the book was phenomenal. And maybe it was because of where I was in my life in those moments I read this book, but no matter what I devoured this book looking for the answers at the end.

So Jessie .... I have been looking forward to his book and I loved it. I loved him. He was fun and we hear about his past with the military but really we see so much more to him and we see that the military experience was just the tip of the iceburg. I think the main them of this whole book was for Jessie to find peace, for Bell to find peace. It was a phenomenal message.

“You’re right but, son, you deserve peace. Forgiveness isn’t about the person asking to be forgiven; it’s about allowing yourself permission to stop hurting. Walking around with this much hatred in your life isn’t going to go away when he dies, Jesse. What he did to you, to me, to our family, it will always be with us, but you need to separate the ugliness growing inside of you before it takes over. Don’t you want peace for yourself?”

This quote ... Jesus!! I just can't handle it. I desperately read to the end of this book to figure out how Jessie finds his peace and figures out what to do. I just came home from a place that asked me for forgiveness that I didn't feel like I could give. But all I want is peace. Isn't that what we all want. I almost broke down reading this book. It's so good and so perfect and so relateable.

Gosh, I've barely covered all the other characters. I liked Bell. She was cute and a consistent character. I've read a lot of inconsistencies among characters lately ... so this was a nice change of events! I got really, really frustrated with her at the end, but understood also. I frankly just wanted her to give in and get it over with. It was fun to see all the characters and get caught up with them. It ran in line with Reclaimed. You don't HAVE to read books in order, but I highly suggest it.

Your worth is conditional on nothing.

So, I don't know what you're doing still reading this book... GO! Go buy it ... buy the whole series. It's one of my favorite MC books and I LOVE it! Enjoy!!
